Welcome To Our Show!
SUS is a 'Show Choir' in Southgate (est. 19/09/23), performing songs from musicals. We bring like minded individuals together who are passionate about performing musical theatre and have the desire to improve their existing skills. SUS is quite unique, in that, much of what we do is specifically tailored to the group, this includes our many custom written vocal arrangements.

​SUS is not your average, conventional singing ensemble, we don't just turn up each week for everyone to 'get their notes right'! Through a creative approach, we focus on assisting members in developing their vocal flexibility, stage performance skills, expressive song delivery and the art of 'letting go'. With our unique method of teaching, the group has already reached new heights in such a short space of time.

Musical theatre is about portraying emotions, playing characters and telling stories through acting, singing and movement - This is what makes it so fun and engaging to watch and be a part of. SUS's journey explores some of this craft and we aim to make the learning process as creative and playful as possible, encouraging all of our members to really go for it whole heartedly and have a good time.

​Prerequisite for joining SUS: ​
​
Previous experience: Previous singing and performance experience are both desirable
​
​
​Independent learning: Home practice is a must for all our members
​
​
Attendance: We rehearse on a Tuesday evening 7-8:30pm during term time and it's important to us that our members commit to weekly rehearsals.

​
Singing from memory: All songs must be off copy. Memorising words and music gives that total focus to implement expression, staging and musical direction from the word go. Being off copy unlocks potential, bringing out unique and incredible qualities in everyone. Singing from memory also unites and solidifies a group, creating a stronger connection so we are able to achieve greater headway in rehearsals.

THE TEAM
Ben and Jack are both graduates of The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, they have worked as a team on many other musical projects and are now thrilled to be running ‘Show Up Singers’ together.
​
Both holding many years of professional experience in the industry as musical directors, performers and teachers, Ben and Jack also coach and work alongside actors and musicians in the West end and touring productions, such as; Aspects of love, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Buddy – The Buddy Holly story, Come from away, Elf - The Musical, Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Hairspray, Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat, We Will Rock You, and Waitress – The Musical.

Ben and Jack’s fun, humourous team spirit, combined knowledge, and individually different strengths and skill sets, provide a fresh and unique experience for those who love singing songs from musicals, are up for improving their stage skills and want to join a group of like minded people who sing musical theatre repertoire together as part of a choir.
